Glossop Band Club

The band performed at Glossop Band club on Sunday 19th March and received rave reviews for both their quality playing, varied programme and entertaining compering by their conductor, including an impromptu dance solo. We would also like to thank some ex players who helped us out: Neil Venables, Soo Rose Cooke, Tim Brocklehurst, Jonathon Fairman and the excellent Tom Knaggs on percussion from Haslingden and Helmshore Band. many thanks to Peter Hargreaves for taking the photograph

Winter Gardens

The band came a disappointing 10th out of 17 bands at the recent north west area contest. Playing Alan Fernie's St Andrews Variation we were very happy with our perfomance, however on this occasion it didnt find favour with the judges. However it was a quality field and we certainly enjoyed playing in the huge opera house, which had a fantastic acoustic. Congratulations to Thornton Cleverleys and Allerton Brass who will be representing the north west at Cheltenham and who produced two quality performances.
